LCBS splits up county-owned property
SUMMARY: Lowndes County Supervisors have decided to split up a county-owned property, previously home to the Sheriff's Boys and Girls Ranch, to promote development in the Western portion of the county. The property has been dormant for years, with Palmer Home leasing part of it to serve underserved children. Discussions are underway for Palmer Home to sublease the property to a group helping victims of human trafficking. The Supervisors voted to split the property, prepare a quit claim deed for the portion not leased, and transfer management to the Lowndes County Industrial Development Authority for clearing and development.
