JXN Water, city of Jackson head back to federal court
SUMMARY: In a recent hearing, residents and organizations in Jackson raised concerns about a lack of transparency from the third-party administrator for the city's water management team. Representatives from various organizations, including the NAACP and ACLU, voiced their concerns, but many residents were unable to speak. Some residents questioned the safety of the water and why boil water notices were no longer issued when water pressure is low. The judge reprimanded the city's mayor and attorney for their attempted intervention during testimonies from firefighters regarding water testing and fire hydrants. The hearing will continue tomorrow to address further concerns from residents and organizations.
