Jury convicts Biloxi man for second-degree murder

SUMMARY: David Thomas Jordan, 65, has been found guilty of second-degree murder by a Harrison County Jury in Biloxi, Mississippi. After a three-hour deliberation, he was sentenced to 40 years in prison with 10 suspended, leading to 30 to serve and five years of post-release supervision. Evidence showed that Jordan, clearly intoxicated and covered in blood, had stabbed the victim multiple times during an altercation. Upon the search at the crime scene, a bloodied knife and the deceased victim were located.

SUMMARY: Ten Army and three Air Force cadets from the University of Southern Mississippi (USM) ROTC were commissioned as Second Lieutenants. The Army ceremony at Camp Shelby featured Major General Janson D. Boyles, while the Air Force ceremony on campus featured Brigadier General Mary-Kathryn Haddad. LTC Juan J. Ortiz praised the Army cadets for their leadership, and Lt. Col. Sheena Puleali'i commended the Air Force cadets for their commitment. Distinguished Military Graduate 2LT Jeremiah J. Parker expressed pride in his training and future goals. Commissioned cadets include 2LT Miruna Avram, 2LT Braxton Bailey, 2LT Jada Fairley, among others.
