Jones College holds ‘Day of Giving’
SUMMARY: Jones College hosted its fourth day of giving today, a time set aside to do good with the raised funds. The college is ready to help students continue their education, with Keaundria Milloy sharing more about the event. The day of giving is geared toward one reason, the students. The event benefits students through scholarships, hardship assistance, and modifications to classrooms. Last year, the event raised over $108,000 for students, while this year, the Jones College Foundation awarded 582 scholarships, equaling about $505,000 in gifts.

Cicadas, cicadas everywhere: How they are helpful
SUMMARY: Cicadas are making a lot of noise near ITA Agricultural High School in Mississippi, where they are being used as an educational tool by teachers. However, for residents living near wooded areas, the cicadas' loud singing can be a nuisance. Experts say the cicadas will start to clear out in early June. Despite the annoyance, the cicadas serve as a natural phenomenon that offers educational opportunities and a chance to learn more about their life cycle. Gabe Mayor from WTV A9 News reported on the noisy bugs.
The cicadas are screaming, and though it may be annoying, one school says they are a helpful tool.

MCC's Brandon Dewease Talks Orientation & College for Kids
