Jackson organization helps shape future of young men

SUMMARY: Men of Honor Mississippi is a summer enrichment program that aims to inspire, empower, and educate young men. The program teaches conflict resolution, Christian values, confidence-building, and more. With almost 40 years of teaching experience, Coach Samuel West sees about 35 kids each summer and his mission is to teach young African-American men how to become responsible young adults. The program has already had a positive impact, with one participant, Lamar River, becoming a coach and mentor. This year, the program plans to monitor the progress of the young men by visiting their schools and communicating with their teachers.
