Jackson City Council approves contract with Richard’s Disposal

Initially, the contract was voted down, but after proposed amendments, it was reconsidered and approved. Rep. McGee on future of Medicaid

New Safe Haven Baby Box at Covington Co. Hospital

The baby box maintains a constant temperature and has alarms to alert authorities when a baby is placed inside. The Covington County Republican women raised $20,000 in donations to purchase the baby box, which is the third of its kind in Mississippi.

A blessing was held at the Covington County Hospital for its Safe Haven Baby Box on Tuesday.
