Original Legacy Park design plans start construction this summer
SUMMARY: Legacy Park in Jackson County is moving forward with its original design plans after Hyde’s Chancery Court upheld approval for a medical and retail center. The court confirmed the need for more medical services, addressing a shortage of primary care in Gocha. The project faced opposition from Singing River Health System and Jackson County Board of Supervisors but gained support from locals, including Gocha Mayor Casey Vaughn, who called it a “game changer.” Developer Dr. Saudi Lisa and partners are now fully committed to building the medical center, retail stores, condos, and a boulevard, with construction expected to start in 3-4 months.
