Inmates cleaning up streets
SUMMARY: M-DOT and the Hinds County Sheriff's Office have initiated a litter removal program that allows inmates to pick up trash along the interstates in Hinds County and the city of Jackson. To support this program, M-DOT will provide $50,000 to hire supervisors for the inmates. The program aims to keep Mississippi beautiful, and both the citizens and inmates' safety will be ensured during the cleanup. Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones emphasizes that this initiative does not give people a free pass to litter, and those caught littering will be held accountable. The program aims to make Mississippi beautiful once again.
