Hilda Drive a haven for illegal dumping
SUMMARY: Councilwoman Angelique Lee has been trying to stop illegal dumping on Hilda Drive since 2019, but efforts to clean up the area have been unsuccessful. People from out of the county have been caught dumping, even during cleanup events. The city plans to block off the area with large barricades and install tag readers and blue light cameras. Lee wants to see legal consequences, such as jail time, for those caught dumping illegally. She believes more education is needed to inform people that the city will pick up their unwanted items.
