Grenada School District to add two electric buses to fleet
SUMMARY: The Grenada school district has added two new electric buses to its fleet, valued at $375,000 each. They can carry about 70 kids each and are part of a federal funding initiative for transportation upgrades. Training sessions were held to familiarize everyone with the new technology. The buses take about three and a half hours to fully charge and have a range of approximately 300 miles. While most bus routes are only 15 to 20 miles, the district sees the new buses as a positive step in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting environmental sustainability.
