Grand jury does not indict Jerrell Powe
SUMMARY: A former NFL player from Mississippi, Jerrell Powe, accused of kidnapping a man, will not be indicted. The decision was made by a Madison County Grand Jury in December. The kidnapping allegedly took place in 2023, and Powe and another person were arrested at a Chase Bank in Ridgeland after a man claimed he was taken against his will in Laurel. Investigators said the victim was part of Powe's investment in a marijuana-growing operation. This comes after a series of legal and personal issues, including the defeat of Cochran in a primary runoff, a suicide note, and a felony charge against Mayfield.
