SUMMARY: Welcome back to Friday Night Fever with Jason Williams and Sammy Robuk. They are excited to be back together on the desk for the quarterfinals. The game of the week features the East Webster Wolverines vs. the Wona Tigers, with the Tigers winning and moving on to the North half championship game. Another game features the Calhoun City Wildcats and the Union Yellow Jackets, with Union winning 34-26. Other games show the Starkville Yellow Jackets winning the Little Egg Bowl and Charleston defeating Hamilton 50-8. There were also wins for St. Joseph Academy, Knox County, and Wadley. The East Webster band and cheer squad won the band and cheer squad of the week competitions. More football highlights to come.

Local high schools hoped to take a closer step toward playing for a state championship.

High winds knocked down trees and power lines in Columbus

SUMMARY: Parts of Lou County were hit hard by strong winds and thunderstorms, causing damage and knocking out power for around 2500 people in Columbus. Sammy Robuk reported live from Military Road in Columbus, showing wreckers clearing trees and downed power lines blocking the roadway. Multiple trees were down, some on houses, and emergency personnel were working to restore power and keep people safe. A family's house was struck by lightning, causing extensive damage. Robuk warned viewers to stay home and stay safe, as driving conditions were dangerous. Recovery efforts were ongoing, with crews working to clear roads and restore power.

Myrtle softball takes game one over Pine Grove

The pitcher, Brooklyn Strike, was dominant on the mound, with the defense only allowing one run. The game ended with Myrtle winning 2-1 in the top of the fourth inning. Cory Kelly hit a crucial play that led to the first score of the game by Ali Murphy. The Hawks' strong defense and pitching performance secured their victory in game one of the series.
