SUMMARY: Drier and more pleasant weather is expected in the Southeast following recent storms. Friday will bring cooler temperatures with highs in the 70s to low 80s and a refreshing northwest breeze. The weekend will see plenty of sun on Saturday with highs near 80 degrees, while Mother's Day may see some evening showers but remains mostly dry during the day. Next week will bring a return to humidity with a chance of rain and occasional storms on Monday, though severe weather potential is currently low. Overall, warm and humid conditions with a chance of storms will persist through Thursday.

Traffic stop leads to drug arrest in Itawamba County

SUMMARY: A traffic stop in Itawamba County, Mississippi, on May 16 led to the arrest of 23-year-old Dustin Wildmon for drug charges and felony escape.
