Firefighters pitch in to help decorate tree in downtown Columbus

SUMMARY: Firefighters in Columbus, Mississippi helped decorate the city's Christmas tree by using a ladder truck to reach the same height as the Tennessee Williams Welcome Center. The event was in preparation for the city's Tree Lighting ceremony on November 27. The tree decorations were put up by the ladies of Main Street and the firefighters. The tradition of decorating the Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving is a local holiday tradition. The Tree Lighting ceremony will take place from 5:30 pm until 7 pm next to the Welcome Center. SUMMARY: A Missing/Endangered Child Alert has been issued for 16-year-old Amiya Nikole Fleming from Enterprise, Clarke County, Mississippi. She was last seen on Thursday, May 30 around 11:45 p.m. in the Clarke County Road area. Amiya suffers from a medical condition that may impair her judgment. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) and her family are seeking public assistance in locating her.
