Feel Good Friday: Tattoo shop raises money for animal shelter, launch party held for Taylor

The Lee County Sheriff's Office dealt with farm animals on the loose. A circus elephant in Montana got spooked by a truck backfire but was safely captured.

SUMMARY: The second annual Starkville Derby, the largest wiener dog race in the world, took place with 200 dogs racing through the streets of the cotton District. The event featured cheers, vendors, and various races for different breeds. Maggie May from Woodstock, Georgia, was the grand champion. All proceeds went to the OCPA Humane Society, raising approximately $50,000, triple the amount from the previous year. Organizer Thornhill expressed gratitude for the support from the community and highlighted the success of the event in benefiting local businesses, vendors, and the Humane Society.
In Starkville on Saturday, 200 dogs raced in the streets of the Cotton District.

SUMMARY: Today marks the third anniversary of a plane crash in Hattisburg that killed four people, including Gary Stanley who was in his home at the time. The site of the crash has since been cleared, but the memory remains.
