Federal officials to transfer control of Jackson sewer to third-party water manager
SUMMARY: Jackson's interim third-party water manager, Ted Henifin, will soon take control of the city's sewer system, according to an approved proposed order. Henifin, who has been overseeing the city's drinking water system since November, will be responsible for managing, operating, and maintaining the sewer system as well. The incentive includes loan repayment assistance for current veterinarians seeking further large animal training. The university has received $18 million to upgrade its veterinary facilities in support of the initiative starting this fall, with penalties for recipients who don't fulfill their practice obligations.
