Clarke County man sentenced to 40 years in prison for drug charge

SUMMARY: Jeffrey Dale Bugsby, 55, was given a 40-year sentence for selling methamphetamine. Cameras were not allowed in the courtroom during the citizen hearing. Sheriff Chancellor stressed the importance of stopping the sale of drugs. District Attorney Coleman explained that habitual offenders will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, while first-time offenders may be considered for diversion programs. Judge Wri handed down the maximum sentence because Bugsby was a habitual offender. Bugsby had prior convictions for forgery and drug charges in Clark and Lauderdale counties. Arrest made in Kosciusko pharmacy break-in
