City of Winona, Aberdeen schools benefit
SUMMARY: The Department of Justice is providing $334 million in grants to improve policing at the local level. The city of Winona will receive around $180,000 to hire entry-level law enforcement officers to increase staff and reduce crime. The Aberdeen School District will receive over $492,000 to hire more school resource officers and improve security at schools.
