Charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling
SUMMARY: Kevin Spain, 18, has been charged by Gautier Police and Jackson County Sheriff’s Investigators for shooting into an occupied dwelling. The incidents, reported to be gang-related, took place in Gautier and the St. Martin area on July 17 and 18, respectively. No injuries were reported. Spain, who is from Ocean Springs, was already in jail facing separate charges relating to felony marijuana possession and fleeing from a vehicle pursuit. He is being held without bond on all charges.

SUMMARY: A fatal shooting occurred in Gulfport on April 28, 2025, when suspects Paul Ravin Martin Jr. and Kevin Eugene James opened fire on individuals in the Holly Circle area. Three victims were injured, and 16-year-old Cobi Earnest later died from gunshot wounds. Martin, 23, was arrested and charged with First-Degree Murder, Shooting into a Dwelling, and three counts of Aggravated Assault. He was out on bond for a previous drive-by shooting.
