Center Stage Theater reopens after closing for renovations
SUMMARY: The Mississippi Arts Commission funded a renovation grant of $105,000 towards the expansion of a facility. The facility, located on Cowan Road across from St. James, underwent its first renovation and facelift since 1975. The lobby was named “The Lori Sneed Lobby” in honor of Lori Sneed and her family's generosity towards the arts. The renovation covered remodeling to the lobby and new ADA accessible restrooms. The Gulf Coast community has donated money towards the project, which has allowed the facility to be open to more people. The facility, now called Center Stage, has started its 50th year since opening on Cowan Road.
It's the first time the facility has gotten a facelift since 1975.
