Carter steps down as football coach at Millsaps, York named interim

Millsaps College has announced the resignation of head football coach Isaac Carter, who has accepted the defensive coordinator position at the of San Diego.

Carter, hired by the Majors in February 2020, compiled an overall record of 6-18 over three seasons in , a 5-13 mark in Southern Athletic Association play. Carter returns to the Division I level for the first time in nearly two decades after serving as a defensive backs coach for Princeton from 2005-06.

Columbus man charged in connection with Meridian homicide

SUMMARY: Dedtrick Jones, a 20-year-old man from Columbus, has been charged with shooting and killing Marvin Horn Jr. in Meridian. The shooting took place on March 10 on Mosby Road. Jones was by U.S. Marshals and Lowndes County deputies, with bond set at $1 million. A of the arrest was captured by a WCBI viewer at a Highway 45 shopping center.
