Canton school officials fire staffer after altercation with student
SUMMARY: Alexis Davis, the mother of a student who was allegedly assaulted at Nichols Middle School in Canton, is seeking justice for her daughter, Catanna Francois. Francois claims she was physically and verbally assaulted by the school's resource officer on April 4. Davis has not heard anything from the school since the incident and her daughter has not returned to school. The Canton Public School District investigated the incident and determined that the resource officer did not follow proper procedures, resulting in his termination. The district remains committed to providing a safe learning environment for all students.
