BYOB: Who is in charge around here?
When I am asked to mentor entrepreneurs, I often hear the phrase: “I want to be my own boss.” Those words make me shudder. The people using this phrase have no appreciation for what it means. The only job on the planet where you can be your own boss is Evil Dictator of a Third-World Country, and that usually doesn't end well.
Being your own boss doesn't mean that you have no boss. Ironically, it means you have all the bosses. Seasoned entrepreneurs deeply appreciate that their chosen path makes them directly responsible to everyone. The “Boss” doesn't have to make any one person happy….

MCSD superintendent explains impact of Inspire Act
SUMMARY: The new Inspire Act funding formula in Mississippi aims to improve student learning by allocating funding based on enrollment rather than attendance. This new method will provide more financial assistance to public school districts, especially during low attendance months. The formula will give extra funding for students in poverty, gifted programs, special needs, and ESL programs. Families like Dennis Holloway believe this funding will benefit students by providing resources like Chromebooks and books. The Monroe County School District is expected to receive an increase of about $60,000 in total funding, replacing the old Mississippi Adequate Education Program.
