“Blessing of the Bikes” draws more than 100 riders
SUMMARY: Motorcyclists and law enforcement participated in a motorcycle ride to kick off the unofficial start of motorcycle season. Riders had their bikes blessed for safety while on the road. Police Chief Joseph Doy believes these events unite the community. He mentioned that motorcycle groups often assist the police department in community activities. Chief Doy, who has been a motor man for years, finds riding his bike therapeutic, helping clear his mind and relieve stress. The event, in its second year, saw over 100 bikers ride through Louns and Clay counties. The police department plans to organize more community events in the spring and summer, including ones for children.
Motorcyclists and law enforcement joined together in a motorcycle ride Saturday morning.
