Back-to-back state champion coach leaves for Coast job

After a decade of in central Mississippi, high school football coach Jeff Stockstill is to the Coast.

On Friday, the School Board of Trustees hired Stockstill as the new head coach for the Pass High Pirates.

“We are about Coach Stockstill coming in to build our program,” Athletic Director Ricky Smith said. “He's a proven winner and we are excited to watch him build a winning culture.  His expectations for his players on the field, in the classroom, and in the community are excellent and we are excited for him to be a Pirate.”

Winning back-to-back championships with the Scott Central Rebels, Stockstill has accumulated a 63-19 record as a head coach, a 28-2 record over the last two years.

After leaving Raleigh with a 29-12 record over three years, one district title, and being 5-3 in the 3A playoffs from 2014-2016, Stockstill took a position at Forrest County AHS in Brooklyn, Miss., for just one year finishing…

Lions Club members help Monroe Strong with rebuilding Amory

SUMMARY: Monroe Strong in Amory, Mississippi is working to bring the town back by repairing roofs of homes damaged by a last year. They received a $100,000 donation from Lions Club International Foundation to their efforts. Monroe Strong has formed local partnerships to stretch the grant money and get the work done quickly. They have already replaced roofs of four homes and aim to complete around 20 in total. like Alice Freeman are grateful for the , calling it a blessing. The organization is making progress in their mission to rebuild Amory one house at a time.
