Paden street sinkhole remains nuisance for residents

SUMMARY: in a South Jackson neighborhood are concerned about a large sinkhole on Paden Street that has taken up half the road. The sinkhole, caused by a collapsed sewer line, is 12 feet long and 6 feet deep and has a strong sewage odor. The residents worry about safety issues, with one person calling it a “ trap” at night. Despite multiple attempts to have the hole fixed, the has only put up barrel cones that have since fallen into the hole. JXN , which recently took over Jackson's sewer system, has been made aware of the situation and referred it to their customer care team. Residents feel neglected and believe the city would act quicker if the issue occurred in a different neighborhood.

Habitat for Humanity builds homes for two Jackson families

Art show part of FestivalSouth calendar
