Giant cross erected along Aberdeen highway
SUMMARY: After nearly 2 years of fundraising and hard work, a giant Christian cross has been erected at a site in Aberdine, joining similar crosses in other parts of the state. The community gathered to witness the cross being raised, with hearts filled with joy at the manifestation of the project. The steel structure stands at 120 ft in height with arms spanning 604 ft, and more work is being done to add a garden and benches to make the site even more special for visitors to pray and meditate. The community is grateful to be a part of this meaningful project.

South Pontotoc beats West Lauderdale to move on to the North Half championship series
SUMMARY: The game was a close one as the Cougars faced a must-win situation with a packed crowd at Cougar Field. In the top of the first inning, a double play by the third baseman helped the Cougars get out of a tight spot. In the bottom of the first, Dalton Tutor hit towards third but another double play ended the inning scoreless. The game remained tied until the bottom of the third when Eli Holloway hit a solo home run, giving the Cougars their first lead. The Cougars held on to win 3-2 and advance to the north half championship series.
