IMMS releases three rehabilitated sea turtles
SUMMARY: Three Kemp's ridley sea turtles were sent back into the wild after being rehabilitated by the Institute for Marine Mammal Studies. Destiny Polster, a student, witnessed the event and shared in the excitement with a crowd of onlookers. The turtles were rehabilitated for several months to a year, depending on the severity of their injuries. Fofo Gilich emphasized the educational experience that the release provided for the kids, especially during Spring Break. The event allowed the children to experience the beach and learn about the importance of marine conservation. Overall, the release was a successful and educational experience for all involved.
