Local basketball products producing in college
SUMMARY: Former high school basketball players from Metro, including Robert Kendrick and Allen Hughes, are making their mark on the college level. Kendrick, a former Velma Jackson player, scored 37 points and secured ten boards for Point University, setting a new team record. He plans to start his pro career after the season. Hughes, a former Clinton standout, recorded a triple-double for Northeast and leads the team in assists. He also had a career-high 24 points over the weekend. These players are proving themselves on the college court and are on track for successful careers in professional basketball.
Velma Jackson and Clinton products are making waves for their respective schools at the next level.
Robert Kendrick out of Velma Jackson is has produced one of all time top performances at Point University with 37 points which is 6th all time. He plans to pursue a pro career after the season.
Allen Hughes of Clinton High School fame recorded a rare triple double for the Northeast CC and recently scored a career high 24 points for first place MACCC Tigers.
