Jackson's emergency garbage contract expiring soon
SUMMARY: Councilman Kenneth Stokes is not in favor of awarding another contract to Richard's Disposal for garbage collection in the area. He believes their performance has not been satisfactory and that a new company should be chosen. Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba previously mentioned that Richard's Disposal had the top scores in the RFP process, but Stokes has not received information on other potential companies. Stokes feels that the decision should have been made months ago and that the city deserves better service. He plans to propose an ordinance to prevent Richard's Disposal from receiving the new contract at the next city council meeting. The current contract with Richard's Disposal expires on March 31st.

The event began at 4:30, drawing community members to witness the stories of three US combat veterans sharing their experiences for the first time. The film aims to educate viewers about the realities of combat. The producer revealed his motivation: losing many of his brothers-in-arms to suicide rather than combat.
