Lt. Governor Hosemann announces Medicaid expansion bill
SUMMARY: Lt. Governor Delbert Hosemann has announced a Medicaid expansion bill for Mississippi which will cover more than 200,000 Mississippians. The bill includes a work requirement, personal insurance contribution based off salary, and will cover those making up to 138% of the federal poverty level. Hosemann hopes the bill will help get people back on their feet. Democrats are looking forward to working on the bill, and the details are expected to be worked out in joint hearings between the House and Senate Medicaid committees. Many are optimistic about the bill's potential due to a different political atmosphere.
