SUMMARY: Several bomb threats disrupted the law-making process in Mississippi when the state Capitol and the Mississippi Supreme Court were evacuated due to threats. The threats delayed the Senate convening and frustrated lawmakers. Federal officials determined that the threats originated from outside the country. The Hinds County Circuit Court also faced a bomb threat, causing evacuations. Similar threats were reported in Arkansas, Florida, Maine, Massachusetts, Montana, and New Mexico and none of them appear to be credible. The FBI is investigating the threats, and the origin remains unknown. Authorities used bomb-sniffing dogs to search the buildings and gave the all-clear after ensuring safety.

Man shot to death at Jackson gas station
