Ocean Springs Ball Drop celebration brings massive crowds downtown
SUMMARY: A recap of last night's New Year's celebration reveals large crowds, live music, and fireworks in cities like Ocean Springs, Biloxi, and Bay St. Louis in Mississippi. Businesses benefited from increased foot traffic, and there is discussion about potentially making the event an annual occurrence to bring economic benefits to the area. While there is no confirmation of whether the event will be held again next year, cleanup efforts have been positive with most debris being set aside near trash cans for easy pick-up. Overall, the festive celebrations brought joy and excitement to the communities as they welcomed the new year.
City leaders hosted the first ball drop in hopes of bringing more visitors to Jackson County.
