Jones County deputy uses Narcan to save man
SUMMARY: Two Pine law enforcement agencies saved an overdosed man's life on December 26th. Sandersville police responded to a call about an unresponsive man overdosing on opioids outside a gas station. Officers administered two doses of Narcan, with a reserve deputy from the Jones County Sheriff's Office administering a third dose, ultimately reviving the man. The Jones County Sheriff's Office issues Narcan to all deputies and trains them on its administration, as it has been vital in reversing opioid overdoses. The man was taken to the hospital, and those suffering from opioid addiction can get a free Narcan kit from the Mississippi State Department of Health.
