Gas prices could hit lowest Thanksgiving level in years
SUMMARY: The Hill reports that U.S. gas prices could hit their lowest Thanksgiving levels in years. The national average fell to roughly $3.31 per gallon, a 10 percent decrease from the previous year. For 60 days, prices have either dropped or stabilized, per AAA. Currently, 11 states have averages below $3 per gallon, attributed to decreased demand and lower oil prices. GasBuddy's analysis suggests that by Thanksgiving, additional states may see sub-$3 averages, with the prospect of the lowest prices since 2021 by Christmas. This comes as the Thanksgiving holiday is expected to be one of the busiest travel periods, with most travelers driving to their destinations.
