Jackson Police Department swears in new officers
SUMMARY: The Jackson Police Department recently conducted a swearing-in ceremony for new officers at the Jackson Police Training Academy. The event was attended by friends and family of the new recruits, who Chief Joseph Wade says will help steer the department in a positive direction. Chief Wade also announced a new initiative called the Action Unit, which will focus on proactively addressing issues such as guns, gangs, and drugs. Additionally, the department is implementing new law enforcement technology, changing patrol shifts from 12 hours to eight, and restructuring the organization.
