Columbus High seniors learn money managing firsthand

SUMMARY: Columbus High School in Mississippi partnered with the Mississippi Extension Service to give their seniors a of the real world. During the “Welcome to the Real World” , 193 were given scenario cards that included a salary and bills they would owe as adults. The exercise taught them how to create a monthly budget and determine if they would need a loan or second job to balance their finances. The goal of the event was to prepare the seniors for after graduation.
