Great White Shark Sighted in Gulf
SUMMARY: A great white shark named Miss Paula was spotted in the Gulf off the shores of Alabama, generating excitement and caution among locals. Researchers estimate she is about 15 years old and about 8 feet long. While great whites typically prefer cooler waters, sightings suggest they may be more common in the northern Gulf of Mexico than previously thought. Miss Paula was last seen near reefs 150 feet deep in mid-April and then disappeared by May 3rd. Residents are advised to be cautious when at the beach due to increased shark sightings.
