JPD holds Summer Youth Police Academy graduation
SUMMARY: Recently, 22 children graduated from the annual summer youth Citizen Police Academy in Jackson, receiving their certificates at the Jackson Police Department Training Academy. The week-long Academy aims to bridge the gap between law enforcement and youth in the city, tackling youth crime and battling issues like drug awareness and bullying. The children had the opportunity to learn from real-life experiences and were mentored by Jackson Police staff and chaplains. The Chief of Police encouraged the graduates to take the lessons learned back to school and become leaders in their community.
