Authorities capture Mississippi teen charged with murder who escaped from jail

SUMMARY: One of the three Mississippi teenagers who escaped from a juvenile detention center has been arrested. 16-year-old Robert Earl Smith Jr. was taken into custody by sheriff's deputies and U.S. Marshals at a house in Yazoo City. Smith, along with two other teens, is charged with murder. The authorities are still searching for the other two escaped detainees. The escape occurred when the teens overpowered a guard, obtained their keys, and escaped using shanks. During the escape, two detainees and a guard were injured. Jones is indicted on armed robbery and auto theft charges, while Holmes faces an aggravated assault charge.

Traffic stop leads to drug arrest in Itawamba County
