Biloxi Shuckers announce Heart of a Shucker Community Fund

SUMMARY: The have introduced the Heart of a Shucker Community Fund, which aims to funds to as far as Mobile to New Orleans, but particularly those within the Mississippi Coast area. Each season, the Shuckers will focus their donations on a certain sector, with this season's selected cause being youth . The establishment of this fund was expedited by the Shuckers' new management, after being conceptualized in October 2022.

USM Army and Air Force ROTC programs host Commissioning Ceremonies

SUMMARY: Ten Army and three Force cadets from the of Southern Mississippi (USM) ROTC were commissioned as Second Lieutenants. The Army ceremony at Camp Shelby Major General Janson D. Boyles, while the Air Force ceremony on campus featured Brigadier General Mary-Kathryn Haddad. LTC Juan J. Ortiz praised the Army cadets for their leadership, and Lt. Col. Sheena Puleali'i commended the Air Force cadets for their commitment. Distinguished Military Graduate 2LT Jeremiah J. Parker expressed pride in his and future goals. Commissioned cadets include 2LT Miruna Avram, 2LT Braxton Bailey, 2LT Jada Fairley, among others.
