Mississippi Braves to donate $1 per ticket to Rolling Fork tornado victims
The Mississippi Braves and Diamond Baseball Holdings have announced that $1 from every ticket sold from this weekend's opening series against the Biloxi Shuckers will be donated to victims of the March 24 tornadoes that wrecked portions of the state.
Rolling Fork residents will also be honored on-field during Friday's opening night pregame festivities, with Marlon Nichols, a former little league and pony league coach, and Britt Williamson, the pastor of First Baptist Church of Rolling Fork, throwing out ceremonial first pitches.
Nichols and Williamson will be recognized alongside Andy Anderson, the President and CEO of the Bank of Anguilla, whose Rolling Fork location was damaged by the tornado.
In addition, the Atlanta Braves Foundation has agreed to match the Mississippi Braves donation. The M-Braves are partnering with the Red Cross to ensure these funds will be used where the need is greatest.

Local sheriff informs drivers to celebrate Cinco de Mayo responsibly
SUMMARY: Cinco de Mayo is a day to celebrate Mexican heritage and culture, but law enforcement reminds people to drink responsibly to avoid alcohol poisoning. The day commemorates the Mexican army's victory over France in 1862, but in the US, it is often celebrated with Mexican food and drinks. Clay County Sheriff Eddie Scott emphasizes the importance of knowing one's limitations when drinking, especially during events like Cinco de Mayo. He urges people to have a designated driver, watch out for friends, or call a cab to prevent accidents and DUIs. Alcohol poisoning is a real danger, and Scott's officers are actively monitoring the roads for excessive drinking.
