MSDH issues safety tips for those impacted by tornado damage

As the Mississippi Department of continues to monitor the health impacts of recent severe weather in the state, the department warns that significant power outages, home repairs, and flooding can create dangerous and potentially -threatening situations.

Below is a list of recommendations issued by the MSDH for victims of recent weather to observe to maximize health and safety at this time.

Personal protection

When cleaning up storm-damaged , be sure to wear protective clothing and sturdy shoes to prevent cuts and scratches from debris. Do not let play in floodwater, and discard any items that into contact with floodwater.

Any food ( food in plastic or glass), medicines, cosmetics, or bottled that has come in contact with floodwater should be discarded. If in doubt, throw it out. Intact cans may be thoroughly disinfected with one-quarter cup of bleach to one gallon of water and then used…

CPD responds to separate stabbing, shooting reports in 24 Hours
