Severe thunderstorms are likely across parts of central Mississippi late Thursday night through Friday morning. According to the National Weather Service in , tornadoes, some possibly strong, and damaging winds will be the main threats with the most intense storms. Hail up to the size of half dollars will also be possible.

Strong southerly winds are expected Thursday evening through Friday ahead of – and in the wake of – a cold front. Sustained wind speeds of up to 25 to 35 mph and gusts over 40 mph will be possible across most of the area as this system moves through the region.
