For the second time in three seasons, George County is headed to the State Championship!
SUMMARY: In a tense game two of the South State Championship, George County defeated Hancock 1-0 to advance to the State Championship for the second time in three years. Pitchers Teegan Dewitt (Hancock) and Addison Davis (George County) dominated, with both teams playing strong defense. The Rebels’ Blakely Slay delivered a key RBI, and a crucial double play by Abby Carver kept Hancock from scoring. Despite Hancock’s strong effort, George County’s defense held firm, and after three scoreless innings, the Rebels secured the win. George County looks forward to facing Neshoba Central in the State Championship.

Southern Miss Honors College Student Wins National Debate Championship
SUMMARY: Freshman Liam Cronin won the novice division national title at the 2025 IPDA National Championship, securing The University of Southern Mississippi’s sixth national championship since 2015. Cronin, an Honors College student double majoring in political science and Spanish, advanced through intense rounds against hundreds of competitors.
