3 arrested for orgnized fraud scheme

SUMMARY: Three individuals in Jones County, Christy Gomez, Michael Norman, and Larry Hodge, were by the auditor's office for their involvement in an organized fraud scheme related to rental assistance in Mississippi. Gomez allegedly managed the fraud enterprise, with all three facing charges and potential fines of up to $100,000. White, the state auditor, accused Gomez of receiving more than $100,000 from the rental assistance program. If convicted, Gomez faces up to 80 years in prison and fines, while Hodge and Norman could face up to 20 years and $25,000 in fines each.

Three people are in custody in Jones County after being arrested by the Mississippi Office of the State Auditor.

Columbus citizens voting Tuesday on school bond issue
