Rain is expected Thursday night through midday Friday, with temperatures in the 60s and a 40% chance of rain. Spring officially begins close to midnight.

Hancock Co. Sand Beach team ahead of the curve on hurricane preparations
SUMMARY: Hurricane preparedness week continues with windy conditions causing large waves and shifting sand at Hancock County's beaches. The small but determined Hancock County Sand Beach Crew works year-round to maintain 10 miles of sandy shoreline, facing challenges such as sand shifting over roads during storms. The crew keeps equipment on standby and works closely with the Emergency Operations Center to stay prepared. Since Hurricane Katrina in 2005, the crew has grown and maintained the area, facing higher tides than neighboring counties. The crew's dedication and readiness for any storm make them essential in keeping the beaches safe in Hancock County.

SHUCKERS BASEBALL: Shuckers vs. Biscuits (Game one, 05/07/24)
SUMMARY: The Shuckers faced the Montgomery Biscuits at Keeler Federal Park, with TJ Shook pitching a perfect first inning with two strikeouts. West Clark made an immediate impact by driving in two runs with a hit to left field, leading the Shuckers to a 3-0 lead in the first inning. HAPPENING TONIGHT: Taste of Ocean Springs Food & Wine festival
SUMMARY: The city of Discovery in Jackson County Ocean Springs is hosting the Taste of Ocean Springs Food and Wine Festival, with restaurants setting up booths at the l&n Depot for people to sample delicious treats. The festival is happening tonight from 6-8:30 p.m. Tickets are required for entry. In addition, Cruisin on the Coast, voted the best car event in the country, recently won USA Today's 10 Best Reader Choice Awards for 2024. The event, which started in 1996 with 374 vintage vehicles, broke records in 2023 with over 10,000 registered cruisers from 45 states, Canada, England, and Germany. The award is seen as a testament to the hard work put in over the years.
The Taste of Ocean Springs Food and Wine Festival is happening Thursday night at the L&N Depot.
