Officers attend LEAD training
SUMMARY: Today, resource officers from across the state gathered in Flowood for LEAD training, which stands for Law Enforcement Against Drugs and Violence. This training equips officers to teach a K-12 curriculum aimed at helping students make smart decisions and resist peer pressure. LEAD, established in 2014, now provides training nationwide. Organizers believe this initiative will strengthen the relationship between law enforcement and youth by fostering trust in a non-threatening classroom environment. Once a student trusts one officer, they are more likely to trust others, enhancing community relations. The training sessions for the officers are ongoing.
