West Point High School celebrates Black History Month
SUMMARY: West Point High School in Mississippi held its second annual Black History program called “Sounds of Wave.” The theme of the program was “Know your History, Right your Future,” encouraging students to research and understand their black history to shape a better future. Principal Dr. Temeka Shannon emphasized the importance of celebrating those who sacrificed for future generations. Students and faculty worked on the program since November. The event included speeches and songs by students. The program aimed to inspire students to take control of their own futures and acknowledge the sacrifices made by previous generations.

Starkville businesses see less customers during summer breaks
