US Marshals arrest man accused of shooting Tupelo teenager
SUMMARY: A man wanted in connection with the shooting of a Tupelo teenager was arrested by US Marshals. The arrest of Deir Smith was confirmed by Marshals, with a picture of the arrest shared by a WTV 9 News viewer. The shooting took place in Verona, not Tupelo, with Smith alleged to have shot a teenager at Haven Aces on April 14th. The incident was said to have started as a disturbance at a home on Metal Drive. Fortunately, the shooting victim is expected to recover from their injuries.

5-year-old electrocuted Thursday night in West Point
SUMMARY: A 5-year-old boy was electrocuted at a sports complex in West Point but is recovering well in hospital. The incident happened at a local baseball field where it is believed the boy came into contact with an electric box on a light pole. He was alert when taken to the hospital for further testing. The West Point Police Officer has confirmed the incident and investigations are ongoing to determine the cause. The West Point water and light department has shut down the complex to ensure safety. Baseball games will resume on Monday as police continue to investigate the incident.
A five-year-old boy was electrocuted Thursday night at the Sportsplex in West Point.

Capitol police arrest bank robbery suspect
SUMMARY: Capitol police have arrested a 46-year-old man, David Barret, in connection to a bank robbery at Trustmark bank on State Street. Barret demanded money from the teller and made off with over $700. He was apprehended and his vehicle and stolen money were recovered by the police.

Jones College graduate releasing first single
SUMMARY: Jones College student Eli Carter, who is graduating with an associate's degree in music industry and recording arts, is set to release his debut country music single called “These White Lines”.
